It’s Fiji’s national independence day. October 10, 2015 marks the 45th anniversary of Fiji re-establishing independence from the British Colonial Rule of the United Kingdom in 1970.
Fiji Week Culminates with FijiDay
The week leading up to October 10th is ceremoniously known as “Fiji Week” with multiple cultural traditions being celebrated throughout the week all over the islands of Fiji. The two primary ethnic cultures of Fijian and Indian celebrate unity and cultural diversity in tandem with the diverse religious traditions of the people including Hindu, Muslim and Christian.
